In days of Olde they were those charged with keeping what has been called The Magic, or The Wisdom. We know them by many names. And now we witness them bloom once again at the dawning of this New Age.
And what might they look like today?
I see many Keepers of Enchantment like myself, those who have been through the muck and never became cynical.
We may have suffered at the hands of another, but never lost faith in the Good, the True, and the Beautiful.
And if we retreated into madness for a spell, it was only a period of adjustment. Of finding a new balance to live by, in a very unbalanced world.
And if we felt like ending it all, it was only because we didn’t know how to go on living in the world of pain and suffering.
So we searched for another way.
Being enchanted with life is a choice not all wish to make. Yet there are those of us who seem not to have been given a choice. It was simply part of our makeup, our soul’s commission to keep taking the high road. And no matter how many times we may have fallen out of Grace, the Grace never fell out of us.
This is something I believe is worth celebrating.

Nancy, just an excellent piece. Thank you for your wonderful effort. I can’t wait to see more!!!
Verda
Wow…I’m enchanted
That’s lovely, Kimberly! Thank you!
I think it must be remembered as well that throughout our history the wisdom keepers were elders. This has been forgotten in the last half century.
Good point Verda. And it so happens that the Enchantment Keepers I’ve posted so far are at least 60!
Though “wisdom” and “enchantment” are not exactly the same in general, they seem to be the same here.
Perhaps what we are trying to say is that enchantment, while enticing when we are younger, is one of the gate keepers to wisdom. Wisdom requires logging the time. There are no short cuts. Maybe enchantment is the seductress that keeps us striving throughout life. That journey remains always enchanting.
That is so beautifully put, Verda!
I love this –
“Maybe enchantment is the seductress that keeps us striving throughout life. That journey remains always enchanting.”
Thank you for your wisdom ~
I can relate to all of this …..is lovely to find so many people with the same mind ……we are one …..seperation of mind is an illusion ! Within all in life we have and continue to access the only true reality and constant……love!
And not just the mind, Ian. We are just a piece of an extraordinarily interwoven universe, mind, body, spirit, that includes every single feature and facet of Creation.
